We have many opportunities to engage in and share music at St. John’s. Come join us as we play instruments, ring bells and sing to the glory of God. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact our Minister of Music, Rob Durocher.
The Chancel Choir, directed by Rob Durocher, provides choral leadership at our 11 am traditional Worship. The chancel choir meets each Wednesday evening.
The Chapel Choir, directed by Deanna Boksleitner, provides choral leadership the first Sunday of each month at 8:30 am Worship. The choir rehearses at 7:45 am prior to worship.
Formed in 1993, the Men’s Chorus is a community group composed of men, high school age and older, from all around the Salisbury-Rowan area. Rehearsing each Sunday afternoon at 4 pm (September - May). Under the direction of Jason Harwood, the group presents a Christmas and a Spring concert and sings for special worship services throughout the year.
The women’s ensemble, directed by Rob Durocher, offers special anthems at our 11 am worship. The ensemble is open to women, high-school age and older, and meets at 5 pm the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, September through May.
Bells add such beauty to our worship. Our Handbell Ensembles provide special music for our 11 am worship, special services, and concerts, ringing 7 octaves of Malmark Hand Bells and Handchimes.
We offer handbell ensembles for all experience levels. Please contact Kimberly Lentz, director of handbells, for more information.
Luther Ringers rehearse on Monday evenings, September- May, at 7 pm in the church sanctuary.
Flute players of all ages provide special music throughout the year for our 11 am worship and special services.
The group, led by Rosemary Kinard, generally practices as scheduled, following the 11 am worship.
The Trinity Singers and Ringers Ensembles represent a partnership between St. John’s and the Trinity Oaks retirement community in Salisbury. They perform numerous concerts at Trinity Oaks, annually. They perform one concert each year with the Y-Wonders chorus. The Trinity Singers are directed by Rosemary Kinard, and the Trinity Ringers, directed by Karl W. Kinard, play 3 octaves of Malmark Handchimes.

Contemporary Worship Musicians
The praise band, made up of singers and instrumentalists, provides leadership at our 9:27 am worship in the singing of contemporary songs of worship and praise.
The group, led by Bradley Chestnut, rehearses each Thursday at 6 pm in the Faith Center.
The Media Team, led by Taylor Hutchins, provides digital media, lighting, and sound at our Sunday Worship Services. They also produce the live stream of 11 am Worship and special events.
