Kingdom Kids is our children’s ministry at St. John’s. Kingdom Kids is relational, formative, and fun!

Our goal is to create a greater impact in the lives and faith journeys of our children by intentionally reiterating lessons learned at home in church and vice versa.
Stacey Shafer, Children’s Minister would love to answer any questions you have.

First Look is for our Birth to 4 year olds. We want our youngest Kingdom Kids to take a First Look at who God is and understand these three basic truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Parents, look for “First Look” to identify materials specific to this age group.
All parents with children, birth to school age, are encouraged to download the Parent Cue App. In addition to following along with the church curriculum, this app is designed to help every parent do something each week to help move their child toward a deeper faith and a better future.
“HOW WIDE AND LONG AND HIGH AND DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST.” EPHESIANS 3:18, NIV
This month in First Look (birth to 4 years old) we will answer the question: Who wants to be your friend forever? Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Jesus’s love is so wide, long, deep and high. This month we “fly a kite” to see just how high it goes!
NO Sunday School on EASTER, April 4 or April 11.
April 18, 3-5 pm: Fly a Kite (in-person)

252 Kids is for our kids from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. What does 252 represent? It’s not our street address or the number of questions a 2nd-grader can ask in 20 minutes. Instead, everything we teach in 252 Kids is based on one of the three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52. I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Our Bible verse of the month:
“SO LET US DO ALL WE CAN TO LIVE IN PEACE. AND LET US WORK HARD TO BUILD UP ONE ANOTHER.” ROMANS 14:19, NIRV
In April, our 252 Kids (K-5th graders) will learn that when we make peace with others, it’s like we're building a bridge across to the other side. We can reconnect and prove we care more about each other than winning an argument.
April 18, 7 pm: 5th grader Zoom
April 25, 3-5 pm: Build a Bridge (in-person)
Children attending worship are invited to remain in worship with their families.
KINGDOM KIDS
EPIC (3rd-5th Grade)
EPIC (Energetic Peeps in Christ) is still around, too. This is our junior youth group. Keep your eyes open for quarterly meetings.
KINGDOM KIDS
Milestones
Milestones are moments in your child’s faith journey for them to explore a particular part of our faith, from prayer to worship to communion. Every milestone includes hands-on teaching, a parent component, and a tool/gift that will help the child carry that faith milestone into their daily life.
KINGDOM KIDS
Camps
St. John’s offers summer camps for all kingdom kids.

Hands and Feet Camp is a day camp for our rising 3rd to 5th grade kingdom kids. Each year, we partner with local organizations in our own neighborhood to serve those around us. Your kids will get to know our high school youth, who help lead this camp.
Music and Arts Camp is a free camp open to rising kindergarten through fifth graders in the community. Children are engaged in choir, movement, arts and crafts, playing instruments, and games. This camp is in collaboration with St. Luke’s Epicopal, First Presbyterial, First Baptist, and Sacred Heart Catholic.
