St. John’s Archives was established to collect and preserve church history.
A committed group of members organizes church records, including newspaper articles, photographs, music books, bibles, and historic architectural features of church. The Archives has preserved a wide range of items from the complete wooden altar, communion bench and pastor’s chairs from our 1857 sanctuary and a painting, approximately 10 feet tall and five feet wide, titled “Christ and the Children”, painted by Augustus and father Arnold Ness Klagstad, whose work is retained by the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
The Archives is a great resource for a look at past ministries, congregational events, and church milestones.
The collection contains written, recorded and digital items which are available for perusal during church business hours. Committee members are available by appointment to check out items to church members.
We cordially invite you to visit our Archives Room to explore our past and encourage you to submit today’s items.
