A Celebration of Bach – Join us on Saturday, Mar. 23 as we celebrate the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in a continuous flow from 1 – 5 pm in the sanctuary. This celebration is a collaboration between Dr. Lawrence Quinette, Piano Faculty at Livingstone College, Rob Durocher, Minister of Worship and the Arts at St. John’s and Stephen Williams, Minister of Music at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, in honor of Bach’s 339th birthday, born March 21, 1685.
The concert includes organ, piano/harpsichord, other instrumental, vocal, and choral selections of Bach’s music. Featured keyboardists include Dr. Lawrence Quinette, Stephen Williams, Mark Tysinger, Phillip Burgess, and Rene McCacheren. The concert will also feature guest soloists and will include other selections by students/faculty from Livingstone and Catawba College. This concert is designed to have Bach’s music heard fairly ‘non-stop’ from 1 pm until 5 pm and is free and open to the public. So come when you can and leave when you must!
