St. John’s Awards $26,250 in Scholarships

On June 3, St. John’s will award 33 scholarships to 26 students totaling $26,250. The scholarships are the result of generous gifts from members who want to encourage and support students in their post-secondary education. The scholarships are part of the St. John’s Benevolent Foundation, a $9 million foundation started in 1974.

The Carl Edgar and Edna Cauble Leazer Church Music Scholarship: Laura Agner

The Scott Rierson Memorial Scholarship: Anna Patel, Mary Wood, John Yang

The Emily May Brown Memorial Scholarship: Mary Kaufmann, Rebekah Lippard, Caylynn Westberg, Laura Agner

The Bruce Alden Ketner Jr. Scholarship: James Emerson, Ashlyn Mills, Joshua Ruggs, Garrett Shermer

The Margaret Cline and Ernest Crawford Safrit Sr. Scholarship: Callie Kirchin, Caroline Parrott

The Hugh B. and Lena B. Lyerly Scholarship: Caroline Parrott, Caroline Plyler, Bethanie Stauffer

Dr. Cyndi Osterhus, scholarship chair, will make the presentations during the 11 am worship service. Bobby L. Rusher III chairs the St. John’s Benevolent Foundation.
